So, South Korea got owned last night in the game against Argentina, 4-1. As my student Alice explained to me, however, "Argentina, number 2, Korea, number 47"--they were super-stiff competition. South Korea's next game is against Nigeria on June 22nd--hopefully, they will win and come out of Group B in second place.
I've been reading some interesting stuff about North Korea in the World Cup. Apparently, the DPK has been spreading the heart-wrenching story that its fans at the World Cup are an elite group, given select visas/plane tickets to South Africa by the North Korean government. Well, turns out, these North Korean fans are actually Chinese volunteers--little more than actors. Super weird, no?
